Negative influences of Instagram

The aim of this blog is to inform readers who are interested in this topic about various issues connected with it. Social media in general has a great impact on today’s society and influence people in many ways. I chose Instagram and its negative effects because I am convinced that it affects the youth significantly. They spend an incredible amount of time scrolling through their feed and the things they see, like, share or post somehow shape their point of view and values as well. Furthermore, there are some dangers when it comes to Instagram; people do not value their privacy and therefore anyone can have a look into their life, some people believe strangers who contact them and this can lead to severe consequences. Moreover, children and teenagers often do not realize that what they see may not be the actual reality, but just a reflection of what people want to make it look like.

Their photos are edited by using various filters, they put inspirational quotes as captions and sometimes they even photoshop themselves in order to look better. When you meet them in person, you are able to tell the difference between the pictures they post and their actual appearance. Girls and women are easily influenced by appearance of other women who have perfect skin, good curves, flat stomach and a pretty smile. This can lead to ruining self-esteem and often creates feelings of anxiety and depre

The difference between reality and life on social media is hard to distinguish for some people. They think that if others have beautiful posts, automatically their lives are full of joy, unforgettable trips and great parties. However, this is often far from the truth.
